Breaking News: ISB Version 3.17 has been released. New features include compatibility with the ScanShark, video training, additional reports and exports and "Memo" Totals -totals showing on reports but not included in inventory totals. Improved speed and performance, increased data entry efficiency for building SKU Master files from scratch and more.

ISB now ships with Alpha-5 Version 5 Run-Time. Some of the new features with Version 5 include a one-click process to open any ISB table such as inventory data with Excel or improved image processing (for placing your logo on reports) plus improved data processing speed.

Inventory Service In-A-BoxTM is our premier software program for doing just about everything related to inventories and inventory services.

Just to keep you reading this, I should point out that it is free with the purchase of a Keytracker, ScanDevil Pro or ScanShark (one per customer) and you get free lifetime upgrades via the internet. OK, now to the rest of the details.

Basically, ISB has several parts to it. One is the inventory services portion that runs the day to day operations of an inventory auditing/stocktaking service. Second, is the data processing end that generates reports, manipulates data and so on. Third is the ScanDevil Portal for configuring the inventory data collection parameters and receiving the inventory data uploads. And fourth, the Program Uploader lets you upgrade the operational program of the ScanDevil.

The idea behind ISB is that to have a system that is powerful but modular and flexible at the same time. For example: suppose you have your own software to run your inventory auditing service but only wish to configure the ScanDevil and receive the inventory data, you can install just that portion of the software. The configuration files for the inventory are easily created from just about any database, spreadsheet or even word processor. Even Notepad, which is included with Windows, can create the Section or Category definitions files, for example.

Should you wish ISB installed on multiple notebook computers or offices, no problem, the necessary files are kept small and can easily be transferred via e-mail or a simple floppy disk.

And, if we don't have the specific report that you'd like (we currently have over 160 different reports and counting), you can modify how ISB works. Because ISB was created using Alpha-5, a commercially available database program, all you need to do is purchase Alpha-5 (around $ 349.00) and you can create all the custom reports, data imports/exports and such that you want. You are not required to purchase Alpha-5 to run ISB, it is completely self contained as a "run-time" environment.

OK, what's the catch?

No catch! We are just facing the reality that many potential customers don't have the money to purchase expensive software. They may be a brand new company and are unsure of their business skills to run their business. Our goal is to remove every potential obstacle towards the purchase of our equipment.

But, how can you do it for free?

The majority of money and time invested in ISB has already been spent. Adding reports or making adjustments to the software is relatively easy at this point because all the background work is done (you never directly see all the work that went into ISB). At this point, it cost us almost nothing to distribute the software -a CD costs about 50 cents to make.

Another reason to include ISB with the purchase of our equipment is to ease the pain of companies converting from other systems. There are other manufacturers that have discontinued their inventory machines and their software has stagnated by lack of development,. The inventory companies the use that equipment are feeling used and forgotten. We want to earn the loyalty of our customers because that insures the long term success of our company.

We also know that you need to be successful in your business ventures so that you'll buy more equipment. The more successful you are, the more successful we are!

System Requirements for ISB:
350 Mb Hard drive space for full install, 50 MB without video training.
